Well, at long last the SmartDD website is up and running. It's a tool that everyone online that sells digital goods should be using. The static download link is now dead.
If you sell digital goods online, then there's a very good chance that at some point you've been the victim of link sharers. You know, you get a real customer buy from you, who then decides it's a good idea to share the download link in a forum.
SmartDD stops that completely.
It does it by delivering an email to your customer after payment has been received by PayPal. Inside the email is a unique link to an auto-generated web page. And on that page is another unique link for that customer to download their purchase.
You can set the link to work for as many times as you want. For example, you might decide to set it to 3 downloads to allow for any connection problems your customer might have. Or you might decide to just give them one chance or as many as they like.
This has distinct advantages (more than you might think) and I'll cover them in another post.
