With the affiliate scheme software coming to fruition and a copy sent to the beta testers who requested it (check your email for Affiliate Click Pal guys), all of the plugins I've pre-released in the past year will soon be formally launched at their regular prices.

You'll find the regular prices will be much higher than the pre-release prices you may have paid or be paying now as a subscriber, but then the good news is you'll earn more money as an affiliate…

In a few hours as I write this, the nickel sale for a very cool plugin that integrates with WordPress and lets you hide and track your affiliate click throughs will go live, today at 6.00pm GMT (1.00pm EST).

Essentially what this plugin will allow you to do is to create affiliate links on your blog that look like a regular page or post. It does this by hooking into the WordPress permalink system – something that standalone scripts can't do.

As if that alone isn't good enough, it will also track your click throughs allowing you to work out which products you're promoting are the most popular. And of course when comparing those clicks through into conversions, you can then work out which are the best programs to promote in terms of direct earnings.

Next, you can force your URL to stay in the address bar while the target page you're promoting is shown in an iframe.

This effectively means that to a casual visitor it looks very much like the page they're viewing is part of your blog.

And finally, you can check a box that will hide the links from menus and page lists (WP 3.x +). This will come in very handy if you want to create an affiliate link, but not have it appear on your menus and widgets etc.

When we officially launch this plugin, it will be for $27 and will include minor upgrades all the way up to v2. This is your chance to get the same deal but at less than half the price.

These nickel sales have a habit of being very popular and taking off very quickly, so you have to be a bit quick to get the best deal.

The plugin is now working very nicely, and we're just making a final tweak to it to add a couple of little extra features before we release.  If we find we can't get them in for tomorrow, we'll just go with what we have and then release the additions in a few days time.

Everybody likes free upgrades. 

Corner peel ads are those nice little ads that look like a small piece of the web page has peeled away.  When you hover over them, they peel back more of the page to reveal your ad.

I believe the trick with these is, you don't have to always have them active.  Just activate them when you have something new you want your visitors to see.

While you can have them running the whole time, I think that quite often, "less is more".

I believe it's more acceptable to people that they see a slide up ad more often, and to see the page curls only when there really is something special going on.

Anyway…

Tomorrow (Tuesday 5th) at 6.00pm GMT (1.00pm EST), the nickel sale for the Corner Peel Ads plugin goes live.

Tomorrow, 16th September, I'm going to run a nickel sale for my latest WordPress plugin.

My wife took one look at it and said "Ooh! I WANT that on my blogs!" and I  think you will too.

There's not been a lot of notice for this nickel sale I know, and I've been keeping this "under my hat", but it's now all done and I'd like to get it out there right away.  (And I like to reward those people who pay attention to what I'm doing by giving them the best possible price.)

This new plugin adds additional features to the built in TinyMCE editor that comes with WordPress, and we've nicknamed it "Big Ed".

I feel this is one of the best scripts I've released so far, and David (the developer) is I think quietly very pleased with it too. More than he's letting on.

Well, we've been busy talking about the next product in development, so we've not had too much time to linger over this one. And you know what? We wouldn't have known to even discuss this next product for months if I hadn't done a survey last week.

I'm still a little shocked by the results. Who would have thought that testing and tracking would come out as more important than list building? But then I think that's a further indication of the marketing ability and maturity of the people who read this blog.

That's no idle comment, and I'll adjust my style to reflect what I think you want from what you're telling me.

Yes, I have had problems before, but hopefully not tomorrow…

I've just got back from a nice little run out to Henley In Arden (on the way to Stratford) with the family and we went for an ice cream where we normally do. Inside the shop all I wanted was a single cone, and I asked for a scoop of banana fudge and a scoop of caramel instead of two scoops of one flavour. I've been served that in the past when I asked for it.

"That's not allowed" came the answer from a 17 year old behind the counter. Not the girl who was serving us I have to add.

My wife tried to argue with her, but I said "Leave her alone, if it's 'not allowed', there's nothing she can do about it. She's just an employee, and she's 'not allowed' to make decisions."

Cruel I know, and to make it worse I had a big grin on my face, but I have to say I got an immense feeling of satisfaction from saying it.

Oh well, one step closer to being a cranky old git I suppose. Victor Meldrew move over.

I'm going to start releasing some free PC (Windows) tools shortly for those people on my blog notify list. They'll be in password protected posts and you'll get the passwords (once) in the notify email I send out. After that, they'll be either $5 or $10. I think that's a fair price.

I'm also going to start releasing my "Install A Blog" videos for free, one or two per day. After working through all of them, you'll be able to install your own WordPress blog if you don't already know how to do it, and I'll also cover which WordPress plugins I use and why.

I'll only be making them available until the entire set is complete. Then they'll join my increasing line up of products, probably for $27.

If you don't have a blog, well, why not? Just for doing a bit of writing, you can build a mailing list. It seems that every time I make a blog post, I get new subscribers join my list. It's not hard to do at all, and it's an ideal way to kick start your internet business.
