I gave GoDaddy the heave-ho late last year and moved over to Namecheap for my domains and HostGator for hosting.

I got sick of all the little things you can't do at GoDaddy which come as standard with most hosts. I also hated their in-your-face selling tactics which filled my inbox.

Seems like a wise move in retrospect.

You know what's really sad about this?

If he's spammed enough sites to get Akismetted (bless you) then he could probably have done quite well just by making legitimate and useful posts.

Never ceases to amaze me how much hard work some people put into doing the wrong thing.

I'm sure there are other examples if you use different keywords. It all smacks of extortion to me, as if paying $199 to get your domain back online makes it all better again…

The upshot? I'll continue to use NameCheap for my domain hosting.

I had no idea that godaddy dealt with spam with such an iron fist. Don't get me wrong I like it but it seems odd to me for some reason.
