Most people don't realise that it's about as powerful as Photoshop and handles PSD graphics with ease. It also has the 'skew' feature for turning flat cover graphics with text into perspective book cover or box images. Its weakness is that it's a complicated program to learn, and the instructions for its use aren't updated as quickly as the developers add new features and bug fixes. The present release is GIMP 2.4, a much needed improvement over earlier editions as the working program can now be downloaded in one go. Previous versions of GIMP had to be downloaded with a second program...a sort of runtime environment without which it wouldn't work. Not any more. So these videos will be a timely and very welcome help package, and I look forward to grabbing my copy asap.
